Being half Italian, I've had Panettone and Asti Spumante for Christmas morning breakfast for as long as I can remember. And once I left home, I was perfectly happy with the better ones from supermarkets.
So, when my uncle and cousin in Italy started making Panettone five years ago, I was sceptical that they could be so much better to justify the extra cost.. However, on tasting them, I realised just how much better a panettone could be. They are totally worth it.
I gave a few slices out to people I knew, and the following Christmas had them asking if I could get them some. It seemed rude not to.
Since then, through word of mouth, more people each year have wanted some. And I can't say I blame them!
These amazing panettone start with a 36-hour leavening of the dough. This gives it such a light and fluffy texture that is closer to candy floss than a mass-produced panettone. Then the four variations are produced using the best quality ingredients.
Pellecchiella apricots grown at the foot of Mount Vesuvious give the Apricot panettone a beautifully pure flavour.
The Milano Panettone is the classic flavour. Vanilla from Madagascar, semi-candied orange from Sicily and six-crowned raisins combine to give a lovely rich flavour.
Venezuelan dark chocolate chips contrast beautifully with the sweetness of the panettone dough to give a beautiful chocolatey flavour without being too rich.
Sicilian Almonds and crystalline sugar top the Almond panettone.
This year, I'm very happy to be able to offer two of the most delicious sauces to drizzle over your panettone. Heated in a bowl of hot water to loosen up, one jar will be enough for two panettone. These decadent sauces are made completely from scratch, again using the finest ingredients.
Hazelnuts from Piedmont, famed for being the best in Italy, make the Gianduja the sauce other chocolate hazeulnut sauces want to be.
Whilst Sicilian Pistacchios are blended with white chocolate to produce a decadent sauce.
So, take your Christmas breakfast to the next level with these fantastic panettoni. Though I strongly advise ordering one more than you think you want, you'll thank me later!
